Donations Final: $14,000

Thank you for your support!

On behalf of our family, I am happy to announce that this year the 8th annual Kitz4Kids fundraiser in memory of Andrew Dolejsi has raised just over $14,000 for the Autism Support Dogs program!

Your support was instrumental in achieving this great result; we couldn’t have done without you, and so we wish to extend our most heartfelt thank you to you!

I would like to share with you a little bit about this year’s actual event & hope that perhaps you may be able to join us next year.

Our current setup at the River Rock has once again proven to be an ideal venue for our event: the setup is fantastic, the buffet never disappoints, and the service is top notch.
This year’s performance by The Day Trippers, a local Beatles tribute band was a big hit with everyone, inspiring many of our guests who were moving’ and grooving’ on the dance floor.
This year’s comedian, Graham Clark, was absolutely hilarious had everyone laughing in fits. He clearly made a connection with the audience and kept everything event-appropriate.

Madison, an amazing grade 7 student & her family, along with her school principal, Wendy Shields presented their donation to ASD at our event as well.
Madison initiated & successfully collected over 100,000 aluminum can pull-tabs over the course of 2 years with the help of her classmates & other students.

We heard from Linda Reid, MLA for Richmond and Speaker of the House, as well as Scott Hamilton, MLA for North Delta about the new legislation that came into force as of January 18th, 2016, ensuring that the rights of service dogs and their owners are protected by our laws!
Like everyone else at this year’s event, I was very touched by the words of Bob Charboneeau, the father who spoke so movingly of Olive and the miraculous changes in her life that occurred because of her support dog, and while we do our best to express and emphasize how valuable an asset these amazing dogs are, his words embodied what this whole evening was about.
Oh, and the dogs! I am in awe of how they influence the emotions in the room – I think they bring the love out of the deepest part of every heart in the room.
We thank you so much for your support in helping to make this year’s event a success. We hope that you will have a chance to attend our event in the future, but regardless we truly appreciate all of your kindness and generosity, without which these events would not be possible.

I will follow up with updates on Zora & with the new puppy who we will be named from this event.

Thank you once again,

Eva, Lad, and Douglas.
